Following the design lines of the very popular MENTOR MENUET, the RUBICON series builds on a well known design language and takes it to new heights.
The RUBICON 2 stand loudspeaker is the perfect blend between compact size and large sound performance. With the solid MDF cabinet, the RUBICON 2 has a perfect working environment for its ultra-light 29 mm soft dome tweeter, 6.5 inch wood fibre low-loss driver, and gold-plated terminals. It is rich on detail with an impressive soundstage and has surprisingly large bass reproduction with both precision and timing.

Available in four finishes - High Gloss White, High-Gloss Black, Rosso and Walnut - the RUBICON 2 comes complete with rubber feet to hold it firmly in position and, to help keep it at its aesthetic as well as acoustic best.

The RUBICON 2 can be included in different variations of surround setups, e.g. a pair of RUBICON 8, RUBICON 6 or RUBICON 5, a RUBICON VOKAL and a SUB M-10 D.

SMC

All variants in the series feature the DALI SMC magnet system which reduces distortion as never heard before. Part of the "secret" is the individually coated magnetic granules that make it possible to mould a strong magnet that's not electrically conductive.

TWEETER

The ultra-lightweight soft dome tweeter used in the RUBICON 2 is designed to reach higher into the very high frequencies. Higher than normal for at soft dome used in a DALI hybrid tweeter. This is done since the soft dome tweeter is required to work on its own in the RUBICON 2.
 
The voice coil used in the RUBICON 2 is furthermore designed to be very light and agile in order to achieve a broader bandwidth. This lighter voice coil is placed inside a powerful ferrite magnet that keeps a tight control of its movements.

WOOFER

The cone used in the RUBICON 2 draws upon the heritage from the EPICON technologies, and has a light, rigid and randomly uneven structure. This lower the complexity of the central part of the motor, ensures even piston like movements, reduces the possibility of surface resonance greatly and creates an extremely low distortion within the RUBICON 2.
 
The soft low-loss rubber surround is designed and bespoke specifically for the RUBICON 2, and all of the components are situated in an aluminum chassis designed for maximum airflow around the cone and magnet system.

CABINET

Small but perfectly formed, the RUBICON 2 stand speaker may be the baby of the bunch, but delivering richly defined detail and big bass response, its sound belies its size. The perfect blend between compact size and cabinet inner-volume, we believe we have created the ideal working environment to eke the absolute best out of its drivers. Don't let its small footprint fool you; the RUBICON 2 is a performance powerhouse.
